Should Rent Rules Change Again?

The storm seems to have passed, but some players are still upset about the announced change in rent rules.

Personally, I think I lost a few million due to the large purchases I made right before the rules changed. If I knew that rent was going to go down so far so soon, I would have put those big purchases off.

Some players are suggesting there should be another rent change, however. For instance, increasing the  multiplier when a street is 50% built, or finding other ways to bring the rent value of expensive properties back up.

What do you think? If Hasbro was to change the rent rules again to give more value to expensive streets, how should they do it?

I do, but they have to be careful. They need to make it so there is incentive to build more than green houses or other high rent-ratio buildings. Right now the only incentive is for bragging rights, which often simply creates an easy target for competitors. They also need to make sure that building super expensive buildings don’t also pay out in huge amounts, creating a massive deficit between the haves and have-nots. There is a very, very difficult balance that needs to be struck here, but hopefully this balance is realized sooner than later.

yesterday I realized that if there still are such big rent values now I will have fortune. really. rent form one of my streets (before they change rules) was 169M by building only green houses and some more expensive buildings. imagine that I spend all that money for building on that street. the rent would increase to about 500M. from one street! and the game will continue for next 3-4 months!
i think they have done right thing. too easy game is not as fun as it should be. it should stay as it is. there should be only one change. the lenght of the street should affect rent value but not as much as it was ;)
now i’m thinking how to be the best. only in my country. on global leaderboard there are too many cheaters. and good thing is that in few days i will be into top10 in my national leaderboard so… :)

i won’t play this shit again. it could have been so much fun, but i don’t like to play something where i can’t assume to play against other people who respect fair play.
hasbro as the administrator of this game also is doing absolutely NOTHING to guarantee a fair play so you can take part in a real contest in being the best…

    shit on this game!

They need to increase the rents for the more expensive buildings. Grid is probably the best currently, but at only 1/2 million per building, it takes too many buildings to make much money. Cubic is OK, but as it’s 4 times as expensive as Grid yet only pays twice as much rent, it’s not great. Anything beyond Cubic is too much investment for too little return. A monopoly tower costs as much as 200 grids, yet only gives as much rent as 12 grids. Where’s the sense in that?
