Some Players Paying Real World $$ for Monopoly Cash
I’ve been reading reports that players paying hackers real world $$ for Monopoly City Streets cash.
Apparently, hackers have found a way to hack their computer’s communication with Monopoly’s servers to trick them into giving certain players enormous sums of cash.
Can anyone confirm this? Have you seen it happen?
If this is happening, the developers should be able to put some simple safeguards in place real quick to prevent it. Oh, I don’t know, maybe they could flag accounts for review that somehow earn $1 trillion in the middle of the day?

im sniffing the communication between the server and the client. ill let you know what i find and if i can do the transfer money thing
Adding a Trillion to your account is a great way to cheat your way to the top of the Leaderboard, but then you stick out like a sore thumb. The more subtle cheaters will not be so blatant, and will just add a few million.
But the bottom line is that the cheating happened as a result of poor security on the game servers.
Repairing the hole in the firewall is good, but it is really like closing the barn door after the horse has already run away. The damage is done.
Those who cheated don’t need to cheat again, because the value they stole continues to accrue revenue for them at a rate faster than those who did not cheat.
At this point it is better to just get over it, recognise that the Leaderboard is permanently lost to the cheaters, and simply enjoy the game for the thrill of maximizing your own revenue.

there is a group of people using a program to scan mcs for streets that can be worth as much as M$ 900,000,000 thats only 1 street an store those street names on there personal server, as for selling them for cash im to shore but you could be right. anyone who knows how to script or understands vb6 c++ can make programs that such as the bot that auto fills the street of any biulding that is availible on that program. i was amongst the group of people who did this an if were’nt for our group of friends exploiting the game, it could of been a whole lot worse. anything is possible these days. !!!!!!
