No More Chance Cards?
Is anybody else noticing a significant decrease in chance cards?
It seems that I’m hardly getting any these days, especially when compared with before the restart. This makes it a lot harder to get bonus buildings, which makes the game a lot more risky for me.
I’m curious what the chance is you’ll get a chance card for each move you make–1%? 2%? 5%? No official word yet on that.
At the same time, any chance card I discard, I’m still getting the option to use it again the next time a sign in. Sometimes it’s annoying, but it can also be helpful when I decide I really DO want to use that demolition card!

I’ve noticed a decrease also, and the ratio of hazard/bonus/demo has changed also.
Oh, I get chance cards, but the nagative ones.
Everyday, get about 10M $, and if I only build green houses, I get penalty cards and have to pay 1~7 M $…
But I also get chance cards, I don’t count, but I’d say on every 10~20 buildings
I’ve noticed that I got much more penalty cards, lost about 95 MILLION yesterday…. But I investigated a bit and counted how many chance cards I get when I build between 10 and 20 Houses. My result is a propability of ~10-15%. But that may have been changed due today.
I have noticed that also, but I think it is a natural result of buying patterns as the game progresses, since the formula for triggering cards seems to be related to the number of buildings being created.
Early in the game, we buy more houses and cottages to trigger Bonus buildings and demolition cards. But later, we tend to buy only expensive buildings, so fewer buildings are built, and thus fewer cards are triggered.
As for the discarded cards, that is actually a feature, not a glitch.
The system saves the last discarded card.
If you don’t need the card right now, it will still be available if you suddenly need it soon after. Then, just sign out and back in again, and voila; it is there for you to use.
I dunno. I seem to be getting innundated with chance cards. Sometimes I’ll have a run of 10-15 buildings before I get one, then I’ll get one every 2 or 3 buildings for the next 10 buildings. Luckily it’s mostly throwaways (sewerworks has been popular), but still it’s horribly annoying since the current strategy to the game seems to be “buy super long streets, then build hundreds of buildings”. It’s driving me bonkers with all the scrolling it requires since the chance cards take you back to the street handle when you discard or use them. I did today figure out the one-click-zoom-out building thing, and that helps alot.
I get a chance card for about every 6 buildings I place. It’s kinda nerve racking because of the horror stories I’ve heard about wealth being siphoned away by them.
So far, I’ve only lost more than a million twice. I lost 14 million once back when my income was a little over 50 million a day.
Most of my Chance cards are Hazard Cards for either Demolition, building a Prison or Factory. I have never used one to date.
I’ve only received 3 Bonus Building cards so far for 176 buildings (mostly Brouette Towers) on my road. An attack would be a devastating blow.
Seems a certain few other players have no problem scoring demo and hazard chance cards, as my profile will prove. every day, my rent earnings are absolutely demolished by the same, oh, 7 or so players, whom I’m pretty sure is one person, within a matter of an hour. And I’m not sure why. I think I have planted one hazard in the 2 weeks I have been playing the game, and that was in retaliation for one placed on my property. Otherwise have discarded them since then. But every day, my rents have positively vaporized, leaving me with no avenue to gain, or retaliate if I wanted to. Which I really don’t. This game is not so much fun for me.
I’m using two accounts (not for cheating, just playing with different stategies) and recognized a big difference between them.
One account gets much more (positive) chance cards where the other one gets almost no destruction or bonus building cards and today I had to pay 30M fee twice just one after the other (I had just about 100M income)!!
The later account was using the chance cards to build jails etc on opponents streets right from the beginning where the other account just played without any interference with other players…
It’s kinda strange to me….
@Michael – yeah, I’ve noticed the same thing. I have 3 accounts (sometimes my job gets a bit dull…) and one of them seems to get more chance cards (and more “good” chance cards) than the other two. And another of the three seems to get less chance cards than the other two.
This morning the bigger account lost $47mil on a single chance card and I only had $60mil in the bank (so much for the theory that the fines are based on how much cash you have in the bank).
I lost 500 mill today..

Yes I have noticed too, until I sabotaged one person who has some how managed to get 27 or more, i’m still counting bonus cards in one day. His name is SONNYD and has a 2nd account/friend called ELIXX. SONNYD managed to remove 2 hazards and build 5 bonus buildings, before a list of about 25 demolitions and hazards appeared on my streets. Today I’ve sold everything and stopped playing the game. What a shame…. The game is a joke.
I get anywhere from 8 to 15 Chance Cards per play day.
On the day that started yesterday at 8pm EDT, I got 8 cards and built just over a 100 Sky Towers. Also got fined over 700 million for poor planning. I got all my cards within about 15 builds near the end of my building cycle. For the first 70 or so builds, I did not get any Chance Cards.

One day last week, the very first build generated a Chance Card and it took nearly all my cash, and I couldn’t build even a Green House after that! I was very, very mad.
I have placed somewhere around 100 green houses and I haven’t received any chance cards. Before this very dry spell, I was getting one every 20 or so, now, nothing. Anyone else had this experience?
